Daylight Savings Time is this Weekend
Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night, March 11th, before you go to be. It’s also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. What is Daylight Savings Time? To farmers, daylight saving time is a disruptive schedule foisted on them by the federal government; a popular myth even blamed them for its existence. To some parents, it’s a nuisance that can throw bedtime into chaos. To the people who run golf courses, gas stations and many retail businesses, it’s great. The idea is to move an hour of sunlight from the early morning to the evening, so that people can make more use of daylight. Benjamin Franklin is often credited as the first to suggest it in the 18th century, after he realized he was wasting his Parisian mornings by staying in bed. To many of us it means winter is coming to an end and the days will start getting longer, which makes this a great time for selling or buying real estate. Longer days means buyers can be out driving around looking for that perfect home, and sellers can spruce up the outside for more curb appeal. Whether your looking to buy or sell, now is the time before summer is here and the market really heats up.
