Set on 6.56 acres, it represents one of Lauderdale Lakes WI largest estate parcels with prime lake frontage. It is located on Middle Lakes fabulous east shore, and commands elevated views and western sunsets overlooking the great lawn. In addition to the historic lakefront mansion, the sale included 5 adjacent lake access parcels and a 6th prime lakefront parcel, all of which are free standing, buildable tax parcels. At the time of this writing the purchaser is under contract with yet another adjacent lake access parcel bringing the total acreage up to 7.28 acres and a total sale price of $1,800,000+.
Built in 1926 by Bernard G. Brennan, member Chicago Board of Trade, and President of the Brennan Packing Co. on the site of the former 1000 acre Andrew J. Pierce Stock Farm (Pierce – Racine Automobile and Pierce Motor Boats), it spanned both sides of Hwy 12, and was later sold to Samuel Ruby of Ruby Chevrolet, Chicago. Naming it Ruby Acres, Ruby continued the stock farm operations out of the massive, original Pierce barn, considered the largest barn to be built in Walworth County at the time, complete with tunnel for livestock under Route 12. Ruby made numerous improvements to the property in the 40’s and 50’s including three major additions, a commercial kitchen, elevator, 9 hole golf course, lakefront pool, cabana house, guest house, boat house, and a 2400 foot air strip.
By the mid 1970’s the farm buildings were removed and the property was purchased by the Godfrey Company (Sentry Foods) and offered for development. Paul E. Holton, Holton Food Products, Chicago purchased the historic lakefront mansion and adjacent parcels in 1977 to preserve and protect the estate character of the grounds. Upon Mr. Holton’s passing in 2007, the Holton family embarked on an extensive 5 year renovation of this historic lakefront mansion in preparation for sale.
